A legal requirement still managed on paper
Every site must keep a safety register. It includes general information about the site and its activities, safety staff, and their qualifications and refresher training, safety instructions linked to equipment, and the full history of inspections, works and events on the site. Its main purpose is to prove that regulatory requirements, such as electrical inspections, fire extinguisher checks, fire alarm tests, and evacuation drills, have been met, and that identified non-conformities have been resolved within a reasonable time. However, in most sites, this information is still kept in small red binders.
